Alastair Campbell has quit his job as strategy manager for the PM. Many believe the increasing stress of the Hutton Inquiry forced him to leave.
In an interview, he was asked if would be able to leave within 45 minutes.
Did you know…
That crinkle cut chips are significantly more expensive than regular ol’ straight cut chips? It’s crazy, but true.
In Safeway last night, a 2.25kg bag of McCain straight cut chips was £1.79 whereas the equivalent, 2.25kb of same chips but crinkle cut was a whopping £2.37!
And if you don’t believe me, here is proof, from the Sainsburys website. Prices are slightly different cos it’s a different size bag. Why on earth does crinkle cut cost more!?

After the trauma of the last time one of our crabs “died”, unfortunately now, one of our crabs HAS died.
RIP Scratchy
I spent a very frightening proportion of last week drunk.
Friday was a gig. Got battered went to bed at 4am.
Saturday my mate was around. Got battered went to bed at 4am.
Sunday was, well, Sunday. Got battered (on my own!) and went to bed at about 3am.
That’s three hangovers in three days and I feel baaaaaaaad for it now.
Simon and I have a pact to have a “dry house” for the next 10 days.
No booze til next Saturday. Should be interesting!
After a couple of years, I have resigned my post as Advisor at Sitepointforums. It’s been a long and fun journey, but I have new horizons and goals and all that, so it was the right time for me.
It’s a great resource for webmaster related things, so if you need help with any HTML, PHP or CSS then have a visit…
It’s been quite well thrown about recently that all open-minded non-corporatised people should do their best to boycott major companies such as the likes of Coca-Cola, Nestle and McDonalds. The theory being that they make a squillion pounds a second by exploiting their impoverished workers who work in dangerous conditions for nothing like a respectable salary.
In general I agree. Not because I want to boycott any particular companies, but because I much prefer, wherever possible to support the local companies who are struggling to survive. Things like milkmen, butchers and greengrocers who are struggling against the fierce competition and low prices of big chain supermarkets.
I did find it amusing though when I was staying in a hostel on a surf trip in Sennen a few weeks back when I saw this pinned up in the kitchen:
I don’t mind a boycott, but what in the hell is a boikot?!
I like having a new toothbrush. I got a new toothbrush yesterday. Brushing my teeth is fun again. They feel really clean. Hurrah for new toothbrushes. Or is that teethbrushes. Or teethbrush.
