People carriers

On my way home today I was passed by a string of four people carriers. One Renault thing, two Vauxhall things and one other massive unidentified thing.

Combined number of seats: About 30
Combined length at the traffic lights: About 35 feet
Combined number of passengers: 4

Yep - 4 massive cars, 4 passengers. Crazy.

Yeah? And? From my front room window I’ve seen hundreds of ‘normal’ 5 seat cars with only one person in. Just because someone has a car which can carry 7 people doesn’t mean they should have to drive 7-up all the time.

That’s how I feel when I see my neighbour out driving her Hummer.

    We live in a city.

And to add insult to injury, she has “SAVE THE BAY” license plates.

I know exactly what you mean. My least favourite ones have tinted glass so I can see nothing passed them. It makes it damn hard, not to mention dangerous, passing them on my bike. At least with ordinary cars I can see over the top.

I recently passed one in a traffic queue and it was hideing a Police car. I spotted it just as I was negotiating (safely I might add) around the wrong side of a traffic island. He chased me up the road he did, but let me off as I was polite and “wearing the correct gear”. His words, not mine.

BTW - I finally got the tensioner changed. More about that here - http://c-p-worldtour.blogspot.com/2006/08/hush-noisy-cam-chain-i-cant-stand.html
