Round up the paedophiles!

In response to a 6 year old girl getting abducted, the police’s solution? IT MUST BE THE PAEDOPHILES! In fairness, it quite easily could have been a paedopile that did this, seems like a reasonable place to start, but it’s more the way they’re going to “round them up” ~ like they’re a different race or something (which some people might legitimately argue is the case, but that’s really a different blog altogether).

Sometimes, though, the society we live in makes me really chuckle to myself – no, I’m not laughing at the abduction of a 6 year old girl who was found wandering naked down a street – that is frightening – but the fact that we claim to live in such a cultured, tolerant, non-segregated world where freedom of speech and freewill is number 1. Bollocks. As soon as something goes wrong, the “powers that be” are instantly looking to persecute the old faithful groups who are always doing something wrong… the paedophiles, the homosexuals, the Arabs, the Welsh… For whatever reason it just reminds me of what I’ve seen or read of older times, with mass witch hunts simply due to people’s insecurities and often, it seems, own guilt, since rather than own up to something, they’ll more likely blame it on the scapegoat. At this time of year it’s impossible not to think of the example of Jesus – came to earth, healed a bunch of people, a load of other people got suspicious, so killed him. The closedmindedness of the world we live in is shuddering.

What is the common way of dealing with it though? Don’t think about it, ignore it, and hopefully it will go away.

Civilised my nob.

P.S. I do hope they catch the sick fuck who abducted the girl, though.

Youve obviously not got any kids. Jesus said he was the son of god and mankind beat him to a pulp and crucified him and killed him, nowadays you can fuck a 3 year old and you are a victim. One day you will have kids and you will know how terrible it is to hear these stories and why we should round up all these sick fucks and A_- shoot them, B – hang them or C- castrate them.
These people dont deserve tax payers money to protect them and B&Q sell a piece of rope and a stool for under twenty pounds.
    Peace and love

Hi John, good to hear from you. And you’re absolutely right, I don’t have kids. That doesn’t make me incapable of feeling how terrible this story is, but I’m sure if I were a parent then that sense would be entirely heightened. As I said, I hope they catch whoever did it.

My point was more geared towards the “innocent until proven guilty” thing, which is designed to stop people getting put away willy nilly. I’m sure you’d get pissed off if every time you got in your car you had to pass a quiz saying that you’d be responsible in view of the speeding ticket you got 6 months ago. Is it the same? No, of course not, but the principle is there.

Anyway, I know it’s a touchy subject, was merely trying to post a slightly more philosophical side to the argument.

Yeah, agree with both of you in the sense that if you haven’t commited the crime, you’re going to be a bit upset to hear that the police want to round you up and interrogate you.

But at the same time, I believe that if it is a convicted paedophile in question, then they probably deserve to have to go through the trouble of facing the police everytime something like this happens, just to remind them that what they did or do just isn’t acceptable and may compromise their freedom for the rest of their lives.

I think a good punishment for paedophiles would be to tie them down and let the parents take to them a few times in the balls with something heavy. Are we right to say this? Is that against human rights, as is everyone entitled to their own opinion? Or is it just that when a certain opinion is disagreed with so strongly by so many people that it becomes a problem that we should be allowed to, as a people, deal with?
