about

You're reading a really old version of matt-thornton's website. For example, if you're looking at the movie reviews... you'll notice that none of them are of recent films. Indeed, I leave them here for posterity's sake, but I doubt very much that they'll get updated anytime soon. So have a giggle.

You might, if you're lucky, find something recent from Matt at his blog matt's debates. Kernow bys vyken.

Can't Hardly Wait

the overview

I love Jennifer Love Hewitt. Well, at least I used to. There's a frightening trend appearing - anyone who was in Party of Five got seriously typecast, never to play a different role ever again. It's true - Naive Campbell did it in Scream, Charlie who plays the lead in Lost and now JLH. They're playing different roles in movies... but in the style of Party of Five. It's pretty sad. The only survivor seems to be Lacey Chabert(Claudia) in Not Another Teen Movie. Although she has no lines in that. And a surprisingly large head.

the plot:

Typical teen flick nonsense - some people finish high school, go to a party, try to score, drink some beer and realise the meaning of love and life and happiness and *snore*.

the verdict:

It's awful. JLH is hot, but she also has a surprisingly large head. She does her usual thing, and of course, you see no boob-age. The rest of it is utter tosh, with about the only good thing being Seth Green (of Austin Powers fame). Although he's really short.

Don't even think about bothering to consider the possibility of renting this.
