You're reading a really old version of matt-thornton's website. For example, if you're looking at the movie reviews... you'll notice that none of them are of recent films. Indeed, I leave them here for posterity's sake, but I doubt very much that they'll get updated anytime soon. So have a giggle.
You might, if you're lucky, find something recent from Matt at his blog matt's debates. Kernow bys vyken.
meg ryan's norks
I never thought the day would come. But it did. And I was surprised. But Meg Ryan... ohhh momma. She's been on my list forever.
It's a weird psycho thriller type thing where there's a crazy chick-murderer on the loose who likes killing young women and chopping off their heads.
Meg Ryan happens to live near one of the crime scenes and gets investigated by the Police. The Detective involves happens to be a handsome sorta chap whom she ends up sleeping with. He goes about his business. Then her sister bites it.
To be honest, the film itself is a little tedious. The plot is OK, but the direction is slow and a lot confusing. It's the sort of film where you're not really sure where it's going - because it seems to drift from theme to theme, never really tying the various ends up, let alone together.
Supposably, it's about a lonely woman's search for love, but also about the psychological commitment involved in it.
I fell asleep half way through. However, you do get an extended view of Meg Ryan's jubblees, and most of the rest of her, so it's well worth a look. It's totally different to her other types of films, like You Got Mail, where she plays the cutesy wutesy next doorsy-woorsy lovey-dovey type. Well I suppose, this role is fairly similar, except the film is a lot darker. And she gets her baps out.
If you're a Meg Ryan fan, it's not to be missed. Otherwise, it's only so-so.
