about

You're reading a really old version of matt-thornton's website. For example, if you're looking at the movie reviews... you'll notice that none of them are of recent films. Indeed, I leave them here for posterity's sake, but I doubt very much that they'll get updated anytime soon. So have a giggle.

You might, if you're lucky, find something recent from Matt at his blog matt's debates. Kernow bys vyken.

Mr and Mrs Smith

the one line review:

i'd marry either of them

the overview

Two of Hollywood's biggest beauties star as husband and wife. And off-screen, the rumours flew that Brad was nailing Angelina (despite being involved with Jennybaby from Friends). Well, you would, wouldn't you?

the plot:

John (Pitt) and Jane (Jolie) are both hitpeople, who are employed to kill people. Only they don't know it about the other. And they're married. When they both get assigned to the same job, and end up foiling each other, there job is then to kill each other. When it finally comes down to it, they discover that they're marriage has been a hoax, that they know nothing about each other, but, that, predictably they still love each other and can't kill one another. So they team up to stop the people trying to kill them.

the verdict:

It's quite slick, and extremely predictable and a bit of a snoozefest. There's plenty of action, lots of guns, and enough quick-wit to sink an already sinking ship. But that's about it. I love Bradley, I really do, but he's run out of good roles. And Anjegina... yes, she's undoubtedly beautiful, with blowjob lips to die for and she does romp about in a tight PVC outfit, but she's not a great actress. Except when she's being a lesbian in Gia. Watch that instead.
