You're reading a really old version of matt-thornton's website. For example, if you're looking at the movie reviews... you'll notice that none of them are of recent films. Indeed, I leave them here for posterity's sake, but I doubt very much that they'll get updated anytime soon. So have a giggle.
You might, if you're lucky, find something recent from Matt at his blog matt's debates. Kernow bys vyken.
martin lawrence and a basketball
Martin Lawrence films are a bit like Jim Carrey films - they're fairly predictable, the same old regurgitated formula, and usually pretty funny. This is no exception.
Martin Lawrence is Coach Roy, a hotshot college basketball coach, who's more about the fame and endorsements than the basketball. When things fall apart, he's forced to lower himself by coaching his old school's basketball team - a team who are predictable completely useless at basketball. Will he succeed? Will he learn something about himself? Will there be a happy ending?
(Yes.)
There's not a lot to tell - it's a funny film, with some oh-so-predictable but oh-so-amusing moments along the way. The stereotypes are beaten to death, there's the inevitable love interest, and the inevitable happy ending. Don't expect to be inspired by this film, but if you want something easy to watch, which is quite entertaining, you won't go far wrong.
