You're reading a really old version of matt-thornton's website. For example, if you're looking at the movie reviews... you'll notice that none of them are of recent films. Indeed, I leave them here for posterity's sake, but I doubt very much that they'll get updated anytime soon. So have a giggle.

You might, if you're lucky, find something recent from Matt at his blog matt's debates. Kernow bys vyken.

The Descent

the one line review:

6 women die in a hole

the overview

If you see the trailer to this film, as a bloke, you can't help but salivate. 6 attractive young women go away to a cabin on a girlie holiday. I'm thinking chaching, especially as this film has an 18 rating. Sadly, nothing like that happens.

the plot:

Sarah has a traumatic experience when her daughter is killed in a freak accident. A year later she goes away on a caving holiday to America with five of her girlie mates. Juno, the expedition leader, takes them down in to a previously unexplored cave. Things start to go wrong when it transpires that they're not down there alone.

the verdict:

There's no kinky lesbionics in this film. It's supposed to be an edge of your pants scary thriller where the monsters who live in the hole scare the hell out of you. That doesn't happen. In fact all that happens is the 6 women go in the hole, and die. Predictabl, non-scary, flop.

does my bum look big in this?
