You're reading a really old version of matt-thornton's website. For example, if you're looking at the movie reviews... you'll notice that none of them are of recent films. Indeed, I leave them here for posterity's sake, but I doubt very much that they'll get updated anytime soon. So have a giggle.
You might, if you're lucky, find something recent from Matt at his blog matt's debates. Kernow bys vyken.
Weirdy Beardy
Since I bought it, I've only watched it once. That probably says enough. It's a good film, but it's a bit slow to get going. Andy Garcia is good, and it's worth a look.
Garcia plays Jimmy the Saint a gangster who is given "one last job". But surprise surprise, it all goes wrong, and the mob boss he's working for isn't too chuffed and decides that he and his crew needs to be killed. Blah.
So he's got 48 hours to make amends for all the things he's done wrong in his life including *yawn* making up to the woman in his life.
It's an entertaining film. It's a bit slow, but there's a pantload of great actors in it, and it has a good finish. Garcia is good. It's hard to not see him in a mob style role having been in The Godfather and playing the "bad guy" in Ocean's Eleven.
